This is a great breakfast, especially during the week when you’re rushing out the door. You can make a big batch of oats and then heat them up throughout the week. Oats are an excellent source of fibre and protein, both of which will keep you full and energetic.

I top this power bowl with antioxidant rich blueberries, we buy frozen organic wild blueberries and then defrost them for 30 seconds in the microwave. I also top this breakfast bowl with hemp Hearts which are also high in protein and an incredible source of lots of vitamins and minerals. I chop a tablespoon each of raw walnuts and raw almonds which is also a protein source and they are great for heart health and brain health. Lastly, I sprinkle cinnamon which is anti-inflammatory.

Power Breakfast Bowl Recipe

1/2 Cup                            Steel Cut Oats, cooked

1 TBSP                             Raw Walnuts, chopped

1 TBSP                             Raw Almonds, chopped

1/4 Cup                            Blueberries

1 TSP                                 Hemp Hearts

Place you cooked oatmeal in a bowl, top with the other ingredients, add or subtract anything you want.

Some of my favourite toppings are: pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, berries, banana, cacao nibs, and almond milk.

Top it all off with cinnamon. If you feel the need for some extra sweetness, add about a teaspoon or so of maple syrup.

Bon Appétit!
